Umbwe Route

The Umbwe Route is the shortest, steepest, and most dangerous route. As such it is considered the most difficult route to reach Uhuru Peak.
If you are looking for a traditional Alpine Climb, you want to use the Umbwe Route.
It is considered a very scenic route with views of forests and spectacular ridges but it is bad for acclimatisation. The altitude effects many climbers on Kilimanjaro.
