The Atlas mountain system runs from southwestern Morocco along the Mediterranean coastline to the eastern edge of Tunisia.

The Atlas ranges separate the Mediterranean and Atlantic coastlines from the Sahara Desert.

The highest peak is Mt. Toubkal in western Morocco at 4,167 meters (13,671 feet).

The second highest mountain is the M'Goun of 4,071 meters (13,356 feet).

The Atlas Mountains are excellent for Trekking/Hiking, with the high peaks being more challenging.
