great shirt but overpriced

The shirt is comfortable and fits well, true to size, not to baggy or tight. I wore the shirt in 100 degree humid weather and while I was working up a good sweat, I remained fairly dry, the shirt has good moisture wicking properties. As noted in the previous reviewer's comment, there is no mesh on the back but on the sides. I have had no problems with snags and snares with the mesh. I didn't get sunburned but each person tans or burns differently. Washes well and dries incredibly fast even in humid weather. The only downside of the shirt is the price thus the four stars instead of five. I would buy more if it goes on sale. Also, Altrec is a great place to shop!!

nice fit for petite size

The shirt is versatile and functional. Like the cool mesh side body panels & flip-up collar. Unlike most petite shirts, this size 4 fits me well although the sleeves are a little bit short.

Sized differently than old Canyon

Have several of the old Canyon models and love them. Ordered this one and it's sized much bigger. I'm 5'10", 150 lbs, and I swim in this 12, though that's what I took in the old version. It seems particularly long in the arms. Also, the Tech Specs pocket descriptions are not accurate - there is no longer one zip and one mesh napoleon. Now there is just a zip napoleon and an itty bitty pocket on the top on the other side which would fit lip balm, driver's license. The mesh panels now go all the way down the sleeve, but NOT all the way down the side, and no mesh flap in back like the old. Instead it has mesh underarms and a bit around the back of the sleeve. Seems to show less bra, but don't know how the cooling properties will compare with old. Many more buttons and they seem kind of "fiddley" and the whole shirt seems much more trimly cut, maybe stylish. The old was a bit boxier and I often wore it jacket-like, which I don't think this will be as good for. The material still seems nice and light. The stone green is very dark, kind of Army/olivey.

I would not recommend the 2010 canyon shirt.

I bought the stone green 2010 canyon shirt because I have two of the 2009 shirts and absolutely love them. Although the color is perfect, the style and cut has been changed in the 2019 version. The large area back shoulder mesh is not covered by a fabric, (leaving the wearer open for massive sunburn). The wide pannel of delicate underarm mesh runs all the way to the shirt cuff, which means whatever your arm comes in contact with is most likely to leave snags and tears if worn for camping and hiking. Even resting one's arm on a picnic table exposes the mesh to the surface. (Mine even arrived pre-torn). It will be definitely be going back and I will stick to the 2009 model!

Another great product/shirt from

I just wore this shirt on a Rim to Rim hike at the Grand Canyon the week of May 16,2010. There was still snow on the ground in places on the North Rim and 85 to 95 degrees in the inner Canyon. The sleeves rolled up nicley for the heat and down for the cold. The size was just right I could wear a baselayer or tee shirt under the shirt without it being too tight. I got a size 6; I am 5 feet 6 inches tall, 110 lbs. and 34A bust. I would highly recommend this shirt it is very versatile and comfortable.

great comfortable shirt

love this shirt, I bought every color. Easy to wash dries fast and you can do anything in it. I am med-large petite and this shirt fit me perfect so I would imagine if you are tall this shirt would be short in the sleeves. Perfect for shorter arms or if you roll.

Love This Shirt!

I love this shirt so much after I wore one on a 6 day backpack that I bought three more. Quick dry, always looks good, light & airy, tough, great pockets, fits well. What more is there? I can wear one all week with rinse outs in between. That saves me weight on the trail. Can't go wrong with this shirt. I typically wear medium shirts and the Size 12 fits me perfectly.

Good shirt.

I now possess three of these shirts and wear them everywhere as well as hiking. The material and the design are superb! Very functional, comfortable and cozy. Thank you for your quick delivery.

Great shirt for sun and travel

I just received my third canyon shirt. These shirts are great for hiking and travel in sunny and warm weather. My shirts have gone with me to Sicily, Costa Rica, Peru and Egypt. They are lightweight and dry quickly after washing. I like that they are somewhat shaped and not as boxy as some other hiking shirts. The sleeves run short which is good for a petite person like myself.

This shirt does what it suppose to do

This shirt does what it suppose to do. I am not sure what SPF 30 protection does to me since I am not able to tell it. However when I was hiking or backpacking for about two days the wicking finish does a good job to expedite moisture transfer away from the skin.

Great shirt

Love the fabric and the fit. Nice and light along with flattering. Bought one in two different color and sizes 4 and 6. The 4 is short and the 6 is longer. Kept both. Would like to buy a blue one.

Well, clothing is wide

Great fabric, nice shirt!

I was very impressed with the fabric. It is soft, light, and will be comfortable. So many sun-block shirts are 'crispy', and this is not. The color in the photo looks more gold than the actual color, which is more like a khaki. I'd read reviews that this runs small so I ordered a 12 (I usually wear a 10). It's a bit too roomy so I'm returning and getting the 10. I'm going to check and see if there are more colors and I might order another!

Great hiking or casual shirt

I bought this in rock rose after getting the sleeveless version, (which I also absolutely love). I found this one to be a much looser fit through the body, although they were same size, so I was glad I did not order a larger size, as was recommended. Although I have very long arms, the sleeve length was just fine for me. However, I wish they would add as inch or two to the overall body length. I really do love the shirt, and it always looks great!

I just received my second "Canyon Shirt." I have had my first for about seven years and love the way they wear. I wear mine for hiking, and riding my scooter every day.I am 5'3" and wear a size 8, it fits me great, the only complaint would be that the color is not at all like on line... I got icefall and it looks more like a blue then a mint.Waiting for my third one in the mail as they said casper is on back order.
