5th Harness I have ever used
sco3872061 at Backcountry.com on 06/22/2010 Rated: **Four - five stars if you are a gym rat, TR a lot, or lead short sport routes.
**Why:
comfortable waist even when hanging I don't really feel it, very lightwieght (I hardly know I am wearing it half the time)
**Two - three stars if you lead multipitch sport routes or hang a lot.
**Why:
Gear loops are not convenient for lots of draws and definitley not for gear. If the leg loops ride up on me they they pinch my groin and hamstring and it is very uncomfortable. Even though the waist is ultra comfortable the pinch the leg loops can cause in my leg is enough for me to not recommend it to people. I am able to avoid this 90% of the time by making sure my leg loops stay low. But on long climbs or hanging belays, I will not use this harness.
**Type of climbing I do:
I am in the gym two to three times a week
I lead sport routes outside at least once a week.
My climbing partners hang draws often so I rarely mess with have to mess with the gear loops
Light, Comfortable/ !Small for the Size!
Christine Balaz at Backcountry.com on 06/22/2010 Rated: I read the review below, and gotta disagree: I think the leg loops are comfortable, just as is the waste band. They don't collapse, break down, or pinch.
I really like the simple design. No extra buckles, straps, or crap to make it cluttered, heavy. Even though the leg loops don't have buckle adjustment, they DO have elastic to help them (gently) grab your thigh and not slop around.
This is my first harness with plastic gear loops- and I've gotta say, I quite like them! They're even slanted, so as to slide the gear toward the front where you need it.
I've mostly sport climbed in this harness, but have done some trad as well- and I racked everything on it, no problem. (I HATE using gear slings, so avoid them at all costs -I always rack gear right on the harness.)
***Warning***: I had to order up a size. I'm a non-curvy *lady* (5'9" 145 lbs)and needed a LARGE. Medium was definitely too small.
Type of climbing I do? Mostly trad and sport, near full-time. Was in the Red River Gorge with this March-May.

this one does the trick
climbergeir at Mountain Gear on 06/06/2010 Rated: For the price this one does the trick. Light and good..
Very Pleased
Eric K at Mountain Gear on 06/06/2010 Rated: I have been looking for a lightweight harness with full gear loops and fixed leg loops for a while, this is just what I was looking for. Four gear loops, two ice clipper spots, tag line loop all within a streamline lightweight platform, all for a good deal cheaper than ARCTERYX. The harness is very comfortable, and I have taken several falls in it, all of them without feeling any hot spots. Things get a little uncomfortable if you are belaying a hanging climber for long periods of time. The only thing I would do to adjust the harness is move the gear loops forward about an inch. Otherwise perfect!
Awesome Harness
Dave at Eastern Mountain Sports (EMS) on 05/05/2010 Rated: This harness puts Mammut at the top of the harness game.
Simple and lightweight
Steve at Mountain Gear on 04/04/2010 Rated: Light harness, fairly comfortable even though minimalistic. The buckle system takes a little getting used to but hasn't slipped, though I always double check in fear - perhaps irrationally so. Falling on it is very comfortable on load zones.
The gear loops are tiny but hard plastic and nice. Recommend for sport climbing rack only. Belay loop looks super strong and a patented bracket supports the lower sling to the leg loops, a point of wear in the older models.
