Great Pack!
Kasner at Altrec on 07/07/2010 Rated: What a great pack. It is exactly what I wanted in my next pack. First off it does have a separate area for your sleeping bag at the bottom of the back. The pack is either a top loading or can be unzipped from the front and opened as a side loading pack, which is great for just pulling one thing out like the jetboil, because it boils fast! Also the pack has another zip down pocket on the outside which is perfect for holding your rain jacket and can get to it in a snap! The waste band and shoulder straps are super comfortable and the fit is great! The top flap actually detaches from the bag and is to be used if need be as a fanny pack for day hikes which is awesome! The only thing that I do not like is the smallish inside hydration pouch inside. I have an MSR Dromedary 4L bag, and when filled, does not fit inside the pouch. With some force and moving it around I was able to get it to slide it but anything larger than a 4L hydrobag will have to go on the bottom of this pack! Other than that this is a great 2010 bag and should definitely be looked at by some of the gear reviewers. Has plenty of hook points to latch on ropes, axes and anything else you would need! Also has a soft water bottle holder that comes out of the side of the bag. 2 pockets on the side make holding nalgenes a breeze! All in all I give this a 4.8 stars if they had it. Also the 70L Long is perfect for a super long weekend and even better week long pack!
