I bought this crab for the purpose of holding tape and it works great! I can fit 2 brand new rolls onto the crab with no problems. However i love the feel of the crab so much that I often use it for belaying.

Would say though, that in the rain, this guy is not so great, the grip on the gate can be hard to grip if your hands are slippery (ie its raining), and/or the screwlock was overtightened. Either way, at times, that gate can be hard to get off in certain situations!

Great Product!

I purchased this screwlock 'biner in conjunction with its twistlock counterpart, and it does a great job! Same as the twistlock it has a wide opening between the gate and the bit, so you can easily get your rope or gear inside. It has a very smooth and soundless lock. (when screwing it into a locked position it makes no noise whatsoever, while many other carabiners screech with metal on metal when screwed closed.)
Same as the twistlock, this is one of the best-looking carabiners on the market!

I bought this as soon as it hit the shelves at our store. It is a very nice 'biner and extremely light which is why I bought it. I was very pleased with the weight and the strength of it. It slides very easily into the hole in my Gri-Gri which I have had trouble in the past getting my 'biner to go through. Very light, which is another great thing when you use a Gri-Gri!
