Awesome harness. Only con is belay loop
Hobbs at Mountain Gear on 07/07/2010 Rated: This is the best harness I have every owned. Its comfortable, easy to put on, light, and I will probably buy another one. The only only flaw is that the belay loop is thin which wears through other parts of the harness. If it didnt wear so quickly, this would be the best harness made to date. Real good buy thought. I bought mine with winnings from blackjack on a trip to Red Rocks, so I cant complain.
Am I still wearing a harness?
Chase Skidmore at Backcountry.com on 07/07/2010 Rated: One of the first weeks I had this harness I took a twenty foot whipper on it. I honestly didn't feel a thing. It is so thin and so comfortable with the typical amazing Arc'teryx fit. That said the Arc'teryx fit is fairly slim and the non-adjustable leg loops might be tight on anyone with Apollo Ohno type thighs. After a while you forget you have this thing on. Definitely worth the upgrade.
Superb
Anonymous at Altrec on 07/06/2010 Rated: Excellent harness. Light and really strong. Definitely worth it.
Don't judge by looks
Lars Nesseth at Backcountry.com on 06/10/2010 Rated: This harness fits me well and hangs even better. I bought it. Then when I got home I read the instructions on use. No girth hitching allowed on belay loop, super light haul line, and gear loops. If you climb indoors or let your climbing partner do all the work this harness is great. I prefer a harness that has a lot more courage. I climbed one multi pitch and retired it. Gear loops, haul lines, and belay loops deserve more than this.
Don't judge a harnesss by cool looks
Lars high at REI on 06/06/2010 Rated: I climb five times a weak. Indoors when raining, and outside when dry. Climb sport, and trad both multi pitch. I do not like the light weight gear loops, light haul line, or the suggested no girth hitching on the belay loop. I thought this harness would be a little more hard core for the serious climber.
Like your not wearing a harness
Brad at Mountain Gear on 06/06/2010 Rated: If you have the money, I would definitely get this harness. It is so light and comfortable that it is like you are not wearing anything.
No Girth Hitching
Lars high at REI on 06/06/2010 Rated: Good fit, slim, and comfortable. Should only be used for top roping. Girth hitching of any personal anchor system on belay loop is not allowed by directions. Haul line has a 30 plus lbs. weight limit, and gear loops 17 lbs. Research all products before buying. I should have.
Light and Comfortable
Michael N at Backcountry.com on 05/31/2010 Rated: A great sport harness, the R320 is the epitome of minimalist. It's so light and comfortable, I'll forget to take it off in the gym when I boulder for a bit after doing some roped climbing. I have really loaded the harness up, but with a dozen quickdraws on the gear loops, the weight was distributed very comfortably. At first, the leg loops made my legs go a bit numb while I was setting up a route going up an overhanging roof (hanging in the harness for quite a while). But since then, it seems to have broken in or adjusted a bit and I have never had the trouble since (and I've hung in it quite a bit more). Definitely worth the money for me for sport climbing.
Greatest ever!
Pet3243906 at Backcountry.com on 05/24/2010 Rated: This harness is a slice of heaven! Very comfortable, light, cool, and strong! Everything you have ever wanted in a harness. After a long day climbing I jumping into my car and realized I was still wearing my harness haha!
Great in some wasy. Not so great in other.
toomey100129812 at Backcountry.com on 05/12/2010 Rated: Very light, Really nice material. But when I put a bunch of quick draws on it felt unsupportive. If your justs sending routes with no equipment on this is the harnness for but with no support hanging gear from it is uncomfortable. I now have Black Diamond Chaos and love it.
One haul loop away from perfection.
SeanSportClimb at Mountain Gear on 05/05/2010 Rated: This is a great harness. Thin, comfortable, and plenty of room for quick draws. No notable points of pressure, even for someone without the beefiest legs. Only downside is lack of a rated haul loop, just a scraggly looking little black clip on the back for your chalk bag. Even the $40 BD harness I started climbing on had a rated haul loop. If Arcteryx could have taken that last step, this may have been the perfect sport harness... and for the price of a 'nicer' harness, they should have.
woaw
Christophe at Backcountry.com on 04/26/2010 Rated: I own a BD and a Petzl harness, and never really had anything against them but as soon as I tried the 320, it felt like another world of harness. It is super light, low volume (easy to pack), very comfy, and thin as hell. Far better than any other harnesses for sure. There is also only one security check on this one, like my Petzl one, no need to double back. It's pretty solid even though it's that thin and light: I took several whipper yesterday within one of them was probably 20 feet big.So, yeah I totally recommend this harness, I know it's pricey so try to get it at a discounted price and then it's more than worth the money :)
And before I forget, I wear 32-waist size pants and I got the medium. It's right there. I think if you're 33 you should go with the large...
Sweet
Anonymous at Altrec on 04/10/2010 Rated: Well made, well designed, well thought out. Some Arcteryx products have recently leaned towards the nice but so so category....this harness keeps the tradition of perfection alive.
The idea is great, but...
N/A at Backcountry.com on 04/04/2010 Rated: Pros:
Very lightweight and moves well with your body.
Comfortable to wear while hiking and descending from long routes.
Gear loops are reversible and large enough for a double rack of cams plus quickdraws.
Packs up really small so it does not take up a lot of space in a backpack.
Cons:
The elastics lost their power very soon and partly ripped off. This is especially annoying at the leg loops, their fit became too loose.
The tie in loops show significant tear and wear after one year of occasional (1x every 2 weeks) use.
The warp webbing does not "breathe". Your sweat will be caught under it. When you get rid of the harness, you will feel wet in your back.
Extremely comfortable.. and very light!
Anonymous at Altrec on 03/27/2010 Rated: I haven't been happier with the harness.
