Antarctica Mountain Climbing

Antarctica is a large continent covering over over 14 million square kilometers (5,4 million square miles) making it 1.5 times the size of the Unites States.

There are an abundance of excellent mountains to climb in Antarctica, but since these mountains are not frequently climbed, there isn't a great deal of climbing information on them.

For detailed information about Antarctic climbing, including all known ascents, please read: The Antarctic Mountaineering Chronology by Damien Gildea; A list of first ascents of mountains in Antarctica, 1817-1998. Published by Damien Gildea, Australia, 1998. ISBN 0-646-36129-5.
